I’m a fan of door-to-door prospecting because it’s the fastest way to get in front of a new prospect…
…especially when you don’t have any fresh roofing sales leads; you can just go out and make your own leads!
It’s no secret, most of my success in roofing has come from door knocking.
I’m sold on prospecting because it’s simple to generate your own fresh, hot roofing sales leads, especially after a storm. You can even find good leads without a fresh storm if you’re willing to put in the hard work to find new opportunities and you’re okay with a steady diet of rejection.
I’m a big believer in beating the streets because knocking can work like crazy. My Facebook page is LOADED with advice, sales strategy, and insight on how to sell more roofs. Obviously, knowing how to develop your own leads, and close them yourself, is an extremely valuable skill.
As long as we have to make new sales to stay in business, door knocking will always be my #1 Lead Generation Strategy.
But there are other ways to generate good roofing sales leads…
Prospects Call You
It’s always better when a prospect calls you instead of you chasing them.
Sure, it’s possible to create the illusion of the prospect chasing you with the right door knocking technique, but a prospect is much easier to sell when they call you or fill out a website form leaving their name, email, phone number, and a short message about why they need your help. We all wish we had more prospects calling us, don’t we?
However, the goal of a great lead generation program is much more than getting them to contact you first. You want your prospects prepared and pre-qualified to do business with you, and only you, right away, without delay. Not to mention, an exclusive lead is so much better than fighting it out with 3-4 other contractors who are all trying to sell the exact same prospect at the exact same time.
Can you imagine what it would feel like to have more prospects call you first, ready to do business? That’s a great feeling, isn’t it?
Discover New Neighborhoods
You wouldn’t have to worry so much about where your next job would come from or how you’d make it through the tough winter months.
You’ll find new neighborhoods because your leads often come from areas you’ve never been to before or places where you didn’t know there was damage. It’s like getting a jump start on the competition. When the neighbors see your new yard sign, you’re more likely to pick up even more work in the same neighborhood, or get more referrals.
The biggest advantage of a roofing leads program, the kind where the prospects calls you first, is you quickly establish your credibility in the neighborhood.
Your next job is easier to sell because you now have the momentum.
Having a sold job in the neighborhood means you’re a proven, trusted contractor, rather than another one of those sleazy, obnoxious salespeople trying to drum up new business. Nobody wants to be that salesperson, right?
Good Leads vs. Bad Leads
I can promise you there are a lot of roofing leads out there. That’s the good news.
The bad news is you have to be extremely careful because there’s more bad leads than good leads for sale, especially on the internet.
If you’ve ever been suckered into spending good money on bad leads, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Bad leads don’t even pick up the phone. I’m not sure they’re real people. I think somebody made up their name and gave them a phone number. You have to be very careful, don’t you?
If you’re thinking to yourself, “If I could get good, exclusive roofing sales leads, that’s something I’m interested in doing,” head over to the contact us page and send me a quick message. We’ll schedule a time to talk about what it takes to put together a program where more new prospects start chasing you.
P.S. If you haven’t already received my free Roofing Leads insider report, ask for it by name when you contact us about putting together an exclusive lead program for you.
